VAI S2K Food Manufacturing Software functionality includes formula and recipe management, forward and backward lot traceability, date tracking and control, catch weight processing, scalable batches, product quality management, bi-product and co-product processing, and yield management.
Food tracking by lot number:
Lot number is assigned when the food products are received in the warehouse. - The lot number is being followed through the entire food process until the product is finished.
- In case of a recall the contaminated ingredient is tracked in what finished food products it was used where it’s located in the warehouse and who got it.
- The contaminated product is pulled of the shelves in the warehouse and shipped food is being brought back from the customer locations.
- Reports of the recall are generated proving to the FDA that the food was recalled and destroyed.
Food Shelf life control:
- When food is received in the warehouse the expiration date is checked. If the date does not meet the minimum shelve life of the product a warning is issues.
- At shipment the expiration date is checked against the customer file. If the expiration date doesn’t meet the customer minimum shelve life the product will not be shipped.
Food Manufacturing Work Orders:
- Multi-level formulas can include food ingredients and intermediate levels with multiple production revisions.
- Work order processing allows companies to generate production food to stock.
- Order status screens allow inquiry into orders with shortages, food ingredient its effect on scheduling.
- Work flow triggers help control and enforce work practices throughout the enterprise notifying management of critical issues through the use of conditional e-mails.
- Production costing application that closes the loop food processing and accounting. It posts production costs to the General Ledger for inclusion in financial statements.
Food Material Requirements Planning (MRP):
Easy to use application helps purchasing and production managers analyze current and future material and distribution requirements while enabling more effective planning. - MRP Software is tightly integrated with the Customer Orders, Food Inventory, Sales Analysis (Forecasting), Purchasing, and Manufacturing modules.
- Analyzes stock status of all raw materials and finished food products helping the user determine precisely when and how much material should be purchased or manufactured based on a time-phased analysis of sales orders, production orders, purchase orders, current inventory levels
- Complete pegging allows the user to drill down to the critical data such as purchase order and manufacturing order due dates, and actual customer order commitments.

- The system’s data collection device options support both hand held scanners as well as RF devices.
- Real-time integration with entire S2K system. This functionality will immediately update the fod manufacturing requirements planning in order to determine available capacity at a given department / work center / machine.
- Extensive inquiries and reporting exist to show not only employee productivity, but also food material variances with comparisons of actual versus standard cost. In addition, interfaces to various payroll programs are available.
Food Product Quality:
- Easily integrates with our Inventory, Purchasing, and Shop Floor Control manufacturing software solutions.
- Software allows you to track user defined tests, results, and the disposition of food throughout the manufacturing process.
- Raw food received lots are placed on quality hold pending testing. Until all tests have been passed, the product can neither be consumed in manufacturing nor sold.
